General assembly
The general assembly (divided into regular meetings and provisional meetings) deliberates on important matters including drafting of the charter, establishment of regulations and their amendment, business plans, and approval of budgets and settlements.
Board of directors
The board of directors is composed of the chairman, the vice-chairman, and the board of directors, and deliberates on matters entrusted to the general ssembly and matters related to enforcement of duties.
Committees

Each committee performs activities to satisfy its goals and shall operate as funded by its budget and supported by other relevant assistance. In instances where the committee recognizes it as necessary, a separate sub-committee can be established.

National architects convention
The National Architects Convention is held every two years to provide architects with a chance to renew their friendship and strengthen their networking opportunities. During the convention period, various events are held, including seminars and exhibitions of architecture materials, allowing participants to exchange ideas and information and to enhance their mutual relationships.
Architecture Award
Held annually to help promote architectural culture, the exhibition aims at discovering talented and promising architects to inspire creativity of its members. The projects are awarded in three different categories: architects, newcomers, and students. Their works are also exhibited for local viewers.
Social events
In order to promote friendship and strengthen relations among members, various social events, including sports events, are held annually.
Seminars / Forums / Iectures
Various academic events, such as seminars, hearings, and lectures, are held as necessary. These events help contribute to the development of architectural culture by addressing areas that need improvement and fostering exchange of information concerning domestic and foreign architecture.
Public relations
In order to provide information on the activities of KIRA and other related functions devoted to promoting public interests and to establishing a desirable image for architects, the Institute is conducting public relations activities through various media.
Counseling on matter of architecture for the public
Every metropolitan and provincial chapter has a counseling office in an attempt to maintain a good standard of architecture in the country and to broaden understanding of architecture among the general public.
Foreign Affairs
KIRA participates in annual conferences hosted by international organizations, including the UIA, and ARCASIA, and maintains close relations with architects in other countries of the world by exchanging information on architectural technologies. In addition, the Institute has hosted ARCASIA Forum in Seoul, sharing academic information with other relevant architectural groups throughout Asia. In particular, through regular mutual visits to neighboring Asian countries such as Japan and Mongolia, KIRA is devoting its efforts to promote mutual recognition process of registered architects system and to strengthen mutual friendship and cooperation with the Korea·China·Japan Architects Organization Meeting.
Publication of monthly Magazine
The KIRA Magazine ‘Architect’began its publication in July of 1966 with the objective of providing foreign and domestic architecture related information to its members. As of March 2003, 407 editions have been published.
Citizens Architecture Lectureship
The Citizens Architecture Lectureship established at each chapter provides the public interested in architecture, as well as students, with architecture related information, contributing to the expansion of the basis for understanding of the profession.
Scholarships
In order to encourage talented young students who will be the future leaders in the field, the Institute provides scholarships to those selected students from architectural department of each university.
Architeure Information Center
The Architecture Information Center serves to allow its members and other architects to have easy access to information in the related fields.
Government projects
Commissioned by the government, the Institute is responsible for conducting career management programs for architectural technicians as well as for managing qualifications exams for architects.
Internet/architectural materials information database
The architectural materials database provides individuals - from experts to the general public - to have access to architecture information through the Internet (http://www.kira.or.kr). In addition, as a way of constructing an architectural environment for the digital age, KIRA is working on developing architectural software as well as information systems and a nationwide network to enhance productive of every chapter.
research on
KIRA makes proposals on government related matters through research and surveys in terms of the Building Law and the Architect Law. The activities involve research on system improvements as well.
