As a leader in the development of Korean architectural culture, the Korea Institute of Registered Architects (KIRA) strives to research policies and laws concerning
architecture, institutional improvements and the betterment of architects' working environment. KIRA has also taken the initiative toward advancing local architecture
and enhancing architects' standing.
With the advent of the globalization era, KIRA is systematically promoting diverse innovative efforts for the rebirth of the architectural community. These efforts
will lay a foundation upon which Korean architects can play a leading role in the global market with an advantage based on their creativity by fostering local
architecture as an advanced, creative industry.
In this wave of globalization, an architect's qualifications must incluade high moral values and standards, advanced expertise and continually verified competency.
To respond to such international trends, our organization is focusing competency to gain a competitive edge through efforts such as establishing a Council of
Architectural Registration Boards, revising architecture-related laws and the facilitating exchanges and cooperation with countries with more advanced
architectural culture.
Today, change and innovation are the biggest topics of conversation as well as the biggest challenges facing us all. In this fast-evolving environment, the
ability to adapt to changes and to respond wisely has become indispensable. Moving forward, as a driving force for the changes in the architecture community,
KIRA will strive toward enhancing quality of life for the people of Korea by creating a comfortable urban and architectural environment. In addition, through
nurturing the next generation of Korea's architects and promoting innovative architectural policies and research activities, the institute will step up its efforts to
help Korea realize a leap forward to become a country with an advanced architectural culture. Furthermore, we will broaden the scope of business activity to
help architects contribute to the public interest as members of society while enhancing local architects' stature and promoting their rights and interests.
Going forward, we, the architects and KIRA, intend to grow together with the people of Korea and renew ourselves and each other. As we have improved the
quality of life and grown alongside local citizens over the years, we will continue to further enrich and beautify the life of Koreans.
Changes are coming to the Korean architectural community. Korea's architects and KIRA stand ready to lead them into the future.
